Flowers, Lola and a Blog Update

I started the summer filling my backyard with flowers and plants. The last two years I tried plants, I was too busy and they died mid summer... so I'm trying really hard to keep them alive as a personal goal :) I give myself a 75% score so far b/c some are looking pretty dry in the branch department but I'm really thrilled that 3 tomatoes are turning red! Today I caught Lola trying to eat one... tomatoes are our favorite food, both of us!

Yesterday Lola had x-rays done on her leg after recovery from her TPLO surgery and she is officialy healed :) I was so thrilled and gave her a big mother/daughter type hug when Dr.Jason left the room. Her and I worked so hard over the last two months and we did it!! :) What a relief to know she's not in pain anymore and that it was worth it!

Update about my Blog: I'm going to be posting once a week or so for now on. I want to make sure I have enough time for Freckled Nest and my design projects/clients plus downtime at the end of each day. When I started addressing my workaholic problems, I came to the decision that I need to feel confident that I can complete everything in order to feel peace. Therefore, I'm reducing some things so that my commitments are completable (within work hours, not into the wee night hours) and so that I can do my BEST and find balance. It's hard to let go of some stuff (and say no sometimes) but it's also starting to make each day feel more successful and I feel relief taking some serious guilt and weight off my shoulders. Just wanted to share and keep it real.

Broadway Ave >> Osborne St

Last week we moved our studio/office to a new space, 806 Osborne St. I've only moved 1.5 times in my life and it was just a minivan of stuff from my childhood home to my current home when I was 22 (the .5 was when I lived in dorm for 1 year but I hardly had any stuff). Last week I learned that moving is a lot of work! So many unexpected steps, boxes, labels, backaches and purging! Luckily, almost everything fit (sold a few things that didn't) and we're really happy with the new place so far!

We're just about set-up, just need to get rid of the boxes & bags floating around, set-up the kitchenette and hang stuff on the walls. We're back to work mode now though; I didn't expect the packing/move/set-up to take the whole week and it was hard to lose those workdays. Lesson learned for future moves, I need to schedule it off! Moving is intense!

This is my desk, with Lola trying to sniff out paper or treats and Kyla working hard at her desk. Lots of clutter in the room still, but the end is in sight!!

We're all packed up!

Today we finished packing up our FN office and we'll be moving to our new place tomorrow! I'm really excited about our new place in Osborne because it's a shorter drive for me, I get to bring Lola to work and the heat + air conditioning is included! I'm a cheap date ;)

I'm a sap and couldn't bring myself to take off the heart... I left it on the window for the hipster barbers who are moving into our old home next. Later on, when I looked at this photo of Kyla, I had a real flashback to this window photo I took of Kyla from the first time we hung out, less than two years ago. Now, she's my best friend and business partner-- crazy what time will unfold and how lucky I am :)

Looking forward to all the new memories, projects and growth we'll experience in our new space! I love Freckled Nest!

We have a new Etsy Shop!! (news & giveaways)

A few months ago, we soft opened our Freckled Nest Etsy shop and we've been adding new handmade items every few weeks... it's starting to really come together and I'm having a lot of fun working on it!! Today I did a 'Rocky, top of the steps' dance after taking a certain photo for our next update ;) I also made a rarrr/cheering fans sound. ahem.
