color couples: Gold + Dark

For me, my friend Moorea started it all. Gold with a dark color-- she was ahead of the game and I didn't get it... then, I FINALLY DID :) I used gold instead of silver (for the first time) when Julie from Olivine and I started working together last year. She wanted "gold glitter and color". Now, on our 5th project together (she's moguling it up), Gold remains the constant in her websites and I'm really enjoying this new-to-me color!

I even wear a gold ring now and am starting to prefer it to silver. Paired with a dark color, it's brings out the depth & sparkle and damn, I feel like a woman. WOO.

Color Couples: Yellow & Orange

I've always loved orange and after I got past the 'yellow is pee' stage of childhood, I fell in love with yellow too. Put them together and it's the perfect duo-- all day long (as Darrell Sheets would say).

I've been obsessed with Yellow and Orange for the last four years and my love still hasn't faded. I even painted my eyeglasses Orange and Yellow! This combo is so sunny and happy, they're my perfect signature colors :)

color couples: Aqua + Royal

My red + pink obsession is over and now I'm onto Aqua + Royal and other variations of blue + blue! I've been using it in projects lots lately (1,2,3) and am starting to see it around a lot too-- yay, a new color trend is emerging ;) In July, I told Kyla I thought it would be the next color trend and she teased me about it, blog-mocked me and should now be eating her words like leftover toufurky! Booyah ;)

a Colorful Sleep [3 Tales]

1) I was working late at the office last week and when it got super late, I decided I'd just sleep at the office instead of driving home past midnight only to drive back as soon as I woke up. A sleepover for one!

2) Sleeping under the window by a sidewalk, I was afraid I'd wake up to the scene in Mannequin (circa 1987) with a crowd watching me sleep in the department store window. So, I built a little wall on the back of the couch and covered my head. lol, Kyla laughed at me when she arrived that morning... and didn't understand my Mannequin reference. Do you?

*I'm watching Mannequin piece by piece on Youtube right now, start here.3) I love juicy colors like this and I love buying blankets! I just picked up the acid green duvet cover (on the right) for our bed at the cabin. One wall in our cabin room is an aqua-turquoise :)

color couples: Pink & Red

I'm not typically a fan of pink or red, but when I put them together-- they're one of my favorite color couples! I tried it out on my nails yesterday & can't stop smiling about it :)

When I fall for a new color palette, I quickly become obsessed and I want to see it & put it everywhere :) The Red & Pink combo isn't super common yet (that I could find) but I did find some fun things I wanted to share with you :) Hope you find a little love for pink and red in your life too!
