Tonight was awesome.
I went to A&M's house celebrate Matt's Birthday and I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Olivia, Kennedy and their cousin Lexie dressed up in costumes and asked me to help them put on a dance show for the adults. My main job was pushing play and spinning them like a figure skater. Kennedy dressed as a tiger and was hip hop dancing & doing the robot (well!), and I couldn't stop laughing. At six, she's already got a groove and comedic timing, but seeing her do it as a tiger elevated it to a memory I'll never forget. Olivia loves dancing too (dressed as a mouse or bunny in high heels) but she's more like me... trying to follow her cousin's moves plus a lot of hopping and stomping.
After an hour of swinging kids and feeling like one myself, I went back upstairs and hung with the adults. Sometimes my introvertness makes it easier to play with the kids offside, but eventually I warm up and join the bigger group.
Our family and Matt's family were all goofing around and laughing lots and I thought of a little prank. I first-time texted Matt's sister Laura who was sitting beside me and just said "hi, whatcha doing". She said who is this and I said, you know. Then I said, "I'm sitting in the same room" and quickly tucked away my phone. As she looked around the full room super confused and starting to feel freaked out, I said "It's me Laura, don't worry!". She threw a pillow at me, we cracked up and now we're a little closer. I love little pranks.
Then later we were all playing Psychiatrist and Josh & I were teamed up (Matt's brother). When we came out of the room while the group made up the character, I said "that was a great 7 minutes in heaven" and totally made the room crack up. Felt like I came out of my shell in the group more and being funny twice in one night is a small victory anyday!
On my way home, I stopped at 7/11 to get a drink and the lady ringing me through said I looked pretty. I think I was glowing from having so much fun and laughs... what a nice lady :)
Now I'm home, watching Suits and drinking a cold coke. xo!
