Number 1: My vintage couches were too vintage, lol. About 9 months ago, the foam in the cushions started disintegrating into a Tang-like powder. I've been dreaming of a new couch since then, and around February, even quit sitting in my living room because I was so disturbed by my Tang couches, lol!
Number 2: Last month, Lola hurt her knee quite badly and quit using her back leg. I took her to the vet when it happened, they perscribed pain killers immediately and after many tests and visits this month, Dr. Jason and I decided she will need a TPLO surgery on her knee which is $3000. Gulp but I'm gonna do it, otherwise she has to be on pain killers forever and there not making a big enough difference.
Number 3: I developed a little crush on Dr.Jason through Lola's recent visits and had been daydreaming about him, wondering if I might ask him out for coffee at Lola's next visit. Last week, one of the Vet Tech's called to reschedule Lola's upcoming appointment and when I asked why and she said, "Dr. Jason's wife just went into labor!". Double-bullet of embarrassment DODGED!!
Number 4: I needed to get a line of credit to take care of Lola's surgery and was approved. This was my 1st bank appointment since I opened my account in 2007 (after my divorce) and I wasn't sure how it was going to go. It went well and I was SUPER PLEASED to hear my bank lady tell me "You have beautiful credit"!! I used to have horrible credit and now I'm doing well for myself-- what an amazing feeling to know that I've pulled myself out of that!! :)
Number 5: I've scheduled Lola's surgery and totally bought a new sectional couch this weekend! My two brothers took care of delivery for me and it's my new favorite spot in the house!! Lola wants to come up but I'm trying to keep her off this one. That's quite a battle but hopefully persistence will pay off ;)
Number 6: I'm born and raised in Transcona (part of Winnipeg that used to be it's own town) and this year, it's our 100th Anniversary! The Hi Neighbor Festival was this weekend and I went 3 times because it's right near my house... Saturday night my sister and I went for the rides, dog watching and late night band. And candy. There's always candy when Amanda's around ;)
Number 7: Yesterday, I rode my bike over to Hi Neighbor to pick-up a food truck lunch. I got a brisket, tornado potato and lemonade. See that empty cup in my basket? Well, I'm not naturally the most coordinated and I totally dropped my lemonade before even taking a sip. Waan, waan. I went back to the lemonade truck and asked if they had a "refill" option and they gave me a new one. Very nice people :) Then, lifting my bike over the road divider, I squeezed the cup to hard and dropped the second one. And I swore. Both times, people walking by were giving me the "holding back a laugh face" and the "sucks to be you face". It was funny all in all, but a bummer to lose my $5 lemonade without even a sip ;)
