I look like I'm in a mod video game! A few Friday's back, we all hung out at our studio and did some photoshoots (mostly for our new Indie Website). It was a fun night and we went out for nacho's afterwards at one of our favorite local spots :) Jill took the video below with my iPhone/8mm App (one of my fave apps!) and I thought it would be fun to show you a piece of our night :) And later, we made dance videos that should never see the light of day!
- Positioning your hands on your waist during a photo can help create an A-line shape on a Tent Dress
- I really love this green mod dress! I got it on etsy :)
- I shortened the length of my dress to make it more fun. I still want it shorter though, one more hemming soon :)
- Drinking wine during a photoshoot is not my best move. It was hard to find strong shots in the bunch... but we had fun ;)
- Learning my angles, I prefer being photographed from a slight above angle. Will set that up next time :)
- I really like natural light photos the most... I found studio lighting tricky and weird! We can all learn more soon though-- I've joined up with Melanie (a photographer/blogger) who will be sharing in a series about Studio Lighting on LA in the New Year! (thanks for your requests in this post!)
- I enjoyed playing with the first photo in Photoshop. After widening & smoothing out the backdrop, I cut-out my silhouette with the magnetic lasso and pasted it onto a new layer, drew the grid on the bottom layer with my walcom tablet and tinted the background to accent my ring. It's a little rough but I learned a few things and like the outcome :)
- I can't jump in heels. I can't walk well in these heels either ;)
- I love my friends :)
