A Little About Me

I'm a crafty lady living in the middle of the Canadian Prairies who laughs a lot everyday. I’m a full time blogger, designer and co-owner of Freckled Nest Design, and I'm the resident marketing and Wordpress specialist. I love reading and making tasty food in my tiny galley style kitchen, taking photos, blogging, and living an intentional, creative life.

I’m married to my sweet husband Jesse, and we've been together for seven years. We have two little dogs named Ash and Mal and live in a one hundred and three year old character home in the center of our city. I love thrifting and planning, photography and tattoos, working one on one with my clients and researching new ideas

I'm a self taught designer with a background in project management, marketing, social media and blogging for small to medium sized businesses and not for profits. In addition to design, I love coaching my clients on how they can amplify their online presence by partnering authentic storytelling with my social media and marketing savvy. I have a special passion for creating an online home for my clients that their customers, readers and friends will love making part of their day. There is nothing more exciting to me than making genuine connections and helping others succeed, and I love being a part of that for every client I work with.

My Design Style

I’ve always been passionate about storytelling, and my design inspiration almost always comes from dreaming up the best way to tell my client’s story at a glance through their design. I love creating designs that are feminine and bright, playful and vivid, and enjoy using photographed vignettes or handmade details used in unexpected ways. I'm fascinated by the intersection of physical & digital elements and love finding original ways to give my client site's depth and visual interest.

I'm inspired by Scandinavian and mid-century modern design, typography, the handmade community, and creating unique functionality and navigation for my client's sites. I also really love tattoo art, knitting with giant wool, jewelry (so tempting & dangerous!), and taking the time to encourage and coach my clients so they feel confident and excited about their new designs.
